I read and review a lot of sales and business books but I can't read them all.

Do you have one to recommend that changed how you sell and gave you better results?

Contact us and let us know!

I am often asked to recommend the best sales book. I don’t believe there is one sales book that fits all situations but there are a few classics that belong on the bookshelf of every professional salesperson or sales manager.

Remember: If you buy one good sales book for around $20 and put its ideas into practice, you can increase your sales or commissions by several thousand dollars or more. Wall Street has never reached that rate of return, even in its best year!

I recently asked Amazon.com how many books on selling they offered. The response came back… 4,343! That’s too many for anyone to sort through and if you did, you wouldn’t have any time left to sell.

Don't forget, here are my favorite sales tools:

There is at least one truth in here for every business owner, manager or employee - and that one truth could be worth tens of thousands of dollars and save you hundreds of hours of frustration and wasted effort. Why not learn from Mr. Business Success?

Amazon's offering this $28 book for 45% off. What are you waiting for? Get it today. Read it. Use it. And you can thank me later.

Motivation from "the Master Motivator" - Zig Ziglar

See You at the Top
by Zig Ziglar

I have been a fan of Zig's for over 25 years and he has been motivating sales professionals in all industries for maybe twice that long. His idea, "You can have everything in life that you want if you'll just help enough other people get what they want," has inspired me all these years. No sales library is complete without at least one book by Zig and this is one of my all-time favorites.

If You're Brand New to Sales

Your 1st Year in Sales by Tim Connor

Very nice, "Dummies-style" book that covers the basics of sales. I recommend this to all new salespeople. This would also be a nice gift for someone starting out in sales.

If You Want to Be More Persuasive with E-mail or Other Writing

Words that Sell: The Thesaurus to Help You Promote Your Products, Services and Ideas by Richard Bayan

Here's a classic, written by a copywriter, someone who gets paid to write persuasively. I like it because it's well organized AND Bayan teaches the psychology of copywriting too.

If you want to understand people better & and how to sell them faster and easier
The Art of Speedreading People: How to Size People Up and Speak Their Language
by Paul D. Tieger, Barbara Barron-Tieger, Marly A. Swick

If you want to sell more by being able to connect with a wider variety of personality styles -    this book is for you. It's based on Myers-Briggs and I reference it when I speak on How to Speak Your Customer's Language.

To Boost Your Creativity in Solving Selling Problems (or any other type)

Roger von Oech's "Creative Whack Pack"

This is a deck of 64 cards, each with an idea, like "See the Obvious," "Slay a Sacred Cow" or "Imagine How Others Would Do It." For brainstorming or getting your creativity juices going, trust me, these are great. This would also make a great customer thank-you gift.

The New Strategic Selling: The Unique Sales System Proven Successful by the World's Best Companies

An update of the 1985 classic. If you're selling a big-ticket item to a team where you need to get everyone to say "yes," buy this book. It is generally considered the industry standard. It's not the easiest read you'll ever have but if this is your situation, buy it. Read it. Use it.
