TITLE
Forget "Work-Life
Balance" - How to Really
Love Your Family and Thrive
at Work
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
If you have children, forget
"work-life balance"
- it's the wrong goal. Instead,
learn how to prioritize your
family first and your work a
close second. Your business
will thrive and you'll be happier
too because you'll have less
guilt, worry and stress and
experience more focus and sanity.
The presenter speaks from credibility
- in 1998, her 8 1/2-year old
son, Mark, died suddenly from
brain cancer. Learn the five
key lessons for every working
parent that she learned the
hard way. This message is for
mothers, fathers, stepparents,
grandparents and employers.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Professional working
parents - engineers, salespeople,
lawyers, doctors, accountants,
admistrators, executives who
have children living at home
or human resources professionals
responsible for employee retention
and attraction of employees
with children living at home.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Attendees shall be
able to:
1. Discover which of the typical
concerns of working parents
are most challenging for them
2. Understand why “balancing”
work and life is the wrong goal
and instead to prioritize their
family first and their work
a close second .
3. Learn 5 Key Lessons for every
working parent that will help
them put keep their priorities
4. Share ideas and solutions
with other working parents in
the classroom – and beyond
BENEFITS TO THE EMPLOYER
Decreased Human Resources
costs and Increased Employee
Happiness
** Increased
productivity of all employees
- When working
parent employees hug their family
members before work, the employee
is more focused on the job and
has higher productivity. In
addition, they have fewer distractions,
like divorces and problems with
their children.
** Increased utliization
of key employees
- When key employees can't accept
a transfer or promotion because
their teenaged children aren't
coping well, the employer is
the ultimate loser. This presentation
helps companies utilize their
key employees at their highest
capacity.
** Increased retention
of key employees - By
the time an employee develops
into a "key employee,"
they are often married and have
children. This presentationgives
working parent employees the
tools to be successful at home
and at work so key employees
don't have to quit or work part-time
because of family issues.
BENEFITS TO THE AUDIENCE
MEMBERS
** Decreased frustration and
increased peace-of-mind - "Work-Life
Balance" is a hot topic
today because it's a virtually
impossible goal but employees
keep trying to reach it, fall
short, and fell like they're
failing. This presentation helps
them see a different paradigm.
Instead of "balance,"
it promotes prioritizing.
